To continue on my blood orange obsession, past
recipes here and here, I whipped up some blood orange margaritas for a festive Mexican
dinner the boy and I made. The naturally sweet and tart flavors of the juice are
a perfect replacement for the typical sour mix that so many recipes call for,
and while we made our frozen, they would be equally delicious on the rocks (if
you don’t have a high powered blender).
Crushed Ice
2 ½ cups blood orange juice (we bought ours
already squeezed from Whole Foods)
Juice from 1 Lime
6 oz Tequila (100% agave is always best)
2 oz Orange-flavored liquor
2 oz Agave syrup
- For frozen margaritas, combine the ingredients in a blender and blend on high until desired consistency is reached (should be slushy).
- Serve with a blood orange wedge for garnish, sit back, and enjoy.
xx Molly

This sounds so wonderful! I was very excited to see Wegmans carry Blood Oranges this week and already picked up a few.
