Arthur Avenue

I recently explored a new-to-me section of NYC, Arthur Avenue in the Bronx, or as some call it, “NYC’s real Little Italy.” The neighborhood is chock-full of authentic Italian grocers, pasta makers, bakeries, kitchen stores, restaurants, and even hand-rolled cigar shops (although, not exactly what I was after). The neighborhood is most easily accessed by car but can also be reached by subway and bus (details here), and is well worth the trip. In fact, I think you can completely bypass Manhattan's Little Italy, which has been almost completely overrun by Chinatown, as you’ll get a more authentic experience here. Enjoy the cannolis!
